Raster vs vector for QR codes, in one minute
A QR code is geometry: black squares on a grid. Raster formats sample that geometry into pixels once, at one size, and every later resize re-samples it; enlarge enough and module edges smear into gray gradients that scanners have to guess about. Vector formats keep the geometry itself, so the RIP at the print shop renders perfect squares at whatever resolution the press runs. The rule: PNG for screens and documents, SVG the moment physical printing or a design tool enters the picture, exact-size PDF when the code must come out at a precise width.
One caveat this tool handles for you: an embedded logo is inherently raster, so it is stored inside the SVG at high resolution with its pad, sized to stay within what error correction level H can heal, and the whole composition is decode-verified before you download.

Why do print shops ask for SVG or vector QR codes?
Because vectors scale without quality loss. A PNG made at 512 pixels turns blurry when a designer scales it onto a poster; an SVG describes the modules as exact geometric squares that stay razor sharp from a 2 cm sticker to a building banner. Blurry or resampled module edges are a real scan-failure cause in print, so vector is the professional default.
Is the logo included in the SVG here?
Yes. Your logo is rasterized locally (which also strips its metadata and neutralizes anything inside uploaded SVG files), embedded into the SVG as a self-contained data URL with its backing pad, and positioned identically to the PNG and PDF exports. The file has no external references, so it opens correctly in any design tool or print workflow.
When should I use the PDF export instead of SVG?
When the deliverable is a specific physical size. The PDF page is generated at exactly the width you set (say 50 mm for a label) at your chosen DPI, so nothing depends on how the print operator scales it. Use SVG when a designer will place the code inside larger artwork, PDF when the code IS the artwork.
Does the vector export go through a server?
No. The SVG is assembled and the PDF is written byte by byte in your browser; your data and logo never leave the page. There is no watermark, no account, and the code never expires because it is static.
How do I make sure the printed code will actually scan?
Three things this page does for you: it verifies the design by decoding the rendered image, it enforces the 4-module quiet zone standard, and the print guidance warns when your data density needs a larger physical size (each module should print at 0.33 mm or more). After printing a proof, scan it once with a phone; then run the full batch.
