DevDome vs Jetpack Stats: Which One Fits Your Site?

Jetpack Stats is a solid free view counter for a personal blog. DevDome answers the harder questions: how much of that traffic was human, and which clicks survived.

We make DevDome Analytics, one of the two tools compared here, so we have a commercial interest in it. Every Jetpack Stats fact below is taken from Jetpack's own documentation, linked in Sources, so you can check it yourself. Where we prefer our own tool we say why, and we have tried to name Jetpack's real strengths rather than talk around them. Corrections welcome.

The short version

Last reviewed October 2, 2026. The full comparison explains each point with sources.

  • Jetpack Stats wins on entry cost and convenience: bundled with Jetpack, free for non-commercial sites, one toggle to enable.
  • It does not present a human-versus-bot split, so crawler hits sit in the same totals as your readers.
  • Jetpack Stats needs a WordPress.com account connection, because reports are processed on WordPress.com.
  • DevDome adds bot classification, server-side click capture, region and city detail, and a live visitor view.
  • DevDome is cookieless by default and meters plans on human pageviews only, so bot traffic never counts against you.
