DevDome vs Google Analytics 4: An Honest Comparison
GA4 is free at any scale and plugs into Google Ads. DevDome is simpler, cookieless by default, and separates humans from bots. Here is where each one actually wins.
We make DevDome Analytics, one of the two products compared here, so we have a commercial interest in it. We have described Google Analytics 4 from Google's own documentation, linked in Sources, and we name the things GA4 genuinely does better than we do. Corrections are welcome.
The short version
Last reviewed October 2, 2026. The full comparison explains each point with sources.
- GA4 is free at any traffic level and wired into Google Ads. Nothing privacy-first replaces that.
- GA4 uses cookies, so in the UK and EU it usually needs a consent banner, and declined visits get modelled rather than measured.
- DevDome Analytics is cookieless by default, which in many EU countries and the UK can let analytics run without a consent banner (check the rules where you are).
- Both filter known bots. DevDome also reports the human versus bot split and meters your plan on human pageviews only.
- GA4 still wins on custom report depth. If you need funnel explorations and raw data exports, keep it.
